We are now officially Mommy and Daddy :)

We made it through the night without much crying and we are so excited! Noah woke up this morning and was happily playing and talking to himself in Chinese. We are really wondering what he is saying since he seems happy and giggles a lot. He is a totally different kid than the one we met only a few days ago. He seems pretty content no matter where we are or what we are doing which makes it a lot easier than when we first began. We are totally falling in love with this darling little boy that God has gifted to us.
He is slowly learning English and called us Mommy and Daddy today for the first time with a big smile on his face. He gets really excited when he learns a new word and just starts yelling it over and over. We taught him "boat" the first night we were here as we looked out at the boats on the river and he seems to remember it since he yells it and points every time he sees one. He still doesn't know his name and we are figuring out that we need to say something besides "no" when we don't want him to do something because it sounds too much like his name and he gets this confused look on his face. I'm sure he'll get it eventually.
We are going to go to fancy dim sum later today and then to the jade and pearl wholesale market.... something for Peter and something for me.... I'm sure you can guess who's excited about what :) Tomorrow we go back to the medical clinic to have Noah's TB test read and then he will get his medical exam. We are hoping he passes even though he has a cold since they won't let us go home if he is sick. He did pretty well at the doctor's office yesterday except when he saw the nurses in their white dresses and hats (yes, just like the old fashioned ones you see in the movies) and then he screamed at the top of his lungs. He must have bad memories from his younger days since he went to the hospital alot for testing on his kidneys. When the doctor was checking him out he just sat there... go figure. Let's hope he does okay tomorrow. He has a lot of doctor's appointments once we get back so he'll need to get used to it at some point.
Well, the rugrat is getting into all sorts of trouble so I'd better go wrangle him! We'll write more when we get a chance.
